Information Kit

In September 2004 a Future Directions Sub-Committee was appointed by the AFBG Committee to consider and make recommendations in relation to the future operation of the Association and its Purposes and Rules.

In response to the questionnaire circulated in early 2005 it became apparent that the greatest need of the Members was for information - about starting and establishing a Friends group and about other more complex Friends operational issues.

The Future Directions Sub-Committee recommended that an Information Kit be developed as a top priority.

To this end the Information Kit was developed by the Committee and launched at the AFBG Conference at the Royal Botanic Gardens Cranbourne in September 2006.

It was subsequently circulated to the Association members without charge, where it was favourably received and particularly by emerging Friends groups.

The Kit continues to be posted to all new AAFBG members.

The Information Kit has been reviewed in Jan 2013 to better assist AAFBG members and to reflect the increase in regulatory conditions impacting on volunteer community organisations.

The Information Kit was revised in August 2015 and recently in December 2020.
