AAFBG at the 2019 Melbourne International Garden and Flower Show

2020 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show

After the success of the 2019 Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show (MIFGS) the AAFBG will be participating in the 2020 MIFGS, which will be the 25th anniversary of the event.  AAFBG has already registered for a site and the booking has been confirmed.  Several member groups who participated with us in 2019 have already indicated an interest in being included next year.

The AAFBG Management Committee see participation in this event as an opportunity to give our members Australia wide access to over 100,000 visitors to the Show over a 5-day period.

The opportunity:

  1. Participation at the site - A double marquee will be at an outdoor location, site B57, total area 36 sqm. AAFBG is using two marquees (each 6 m x 3 m), erected as one space with forecourt (total 6 m x 6 m).  Tables and poster space will be available. One table inside the marquees will be used by the Friends of Melton Botanic Gardens, as for 2019.  Discovery Tables will be erected on the outside area. Suggestions for contributions to the Discovery Table by participating Member organisations will be welcomed.  The site and marquees will be identified as AAFBG. Tear-drop signs and other banners  cannot be accommodated. However, posters can be fixed to the internal display areas.  Participating member organisations need to provide volunteers who will be rostered over the 5 days – see below.  Volunteers attending the AAFBG site will be required to wear entry armbands purchased from the MIFGS event organisers.
  2. Contribution of promotional material.  A TV monitor will be hired to display a continuous loop of images showing members’ gardens and activities.  Brochures, newsletters and posters can be provided without charge for visitors to the MIFGS.  Please note: sales of items to the public are not available from this site.
